NIX Uses 1% Permethrin

The CDC acknowledges resistance to 1% permethrin. A large U.S. study collected lice from 48 states and found resistance-associated mutations at extremely high levels.

RID Uses Pyrethrins

The CDC also notes that resistance can reduce pyrethrin effectiveness. The American Academy of Pediatrics has reported that clinical effectiveness of permethrin and pyrethrins has fallen substantially in some studies.
